Position Overview
Our client, a well‑established construction company in Fresno, is seeking a reliable and detail‑driven Staff Accountant to support day‑to‑day accounting operations. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end close, and working closely with leadership to ensure clean and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with general ledger accounting and month‑end close
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts

Support job costing and construction‑related financial tracking
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
- Prepare financial schedules and reports for management
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting records
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures
Required Qualifications

2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or a related industry
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles
- Experience with reconciliations and journal entries

Proficiency in Excel (sorting, formulas, basic analysis)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to job costing or construction accounting
- Experience working with accounting software (industry‑standard systems preferred)
