Position Overview

Our client, a well‑established construction company in Fresno, is seeking a reliable and detail‑driven Staff Accountant to support day‑to‑day accounting operations. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end close, and working closely with leadership to ensure clean and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with general ledger accounting and month‑end close
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
• Support job costing and construction‑related financial tracking
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
• Prepare financial schedules and reports for management
• Maintain organized and accurate accounting records
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or a related industry
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles
• Experience with reconciliations and journal entries
• Proficiency in Excel (sorting, formulas, basic analysis)
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to job costing or construction accounting
• Experience working with accounting software (industry‑standard systems preferred)
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

Compensation & Location
